Well, sadly Steve Irwin age 44 was killed while shooting a documentary on the Barrier reef in Australia early this morning. He was killed instantly when the stingrays posion entered his blood stream and made him go into cardiac arrest. By the time the paramedics where there and Steve was out of the water there was nothing anyone could do. Steve sadly left behind his wife and to young children. I'm finally going to miss hearing that word "Cricky!"

:-(

Post your thoughts here, your favorite crocidile hunter episodes or favorite quotes.

May his spirit live on...

I didn't like his show at all - too strong of an accent and I never really liked crocs - but I really do wish he lived. :-( It's so sad he had to leave his wife behind and had sush a terrible death. He would have liked it much better if he had been killed by crocs, because I remember him saying that if he ever died, he would want to die doing what he loved.

i also feel for his daughter bindy. :-( . he is a legend. :-( . warrior. dunno wat to say but he was a great man.

The most famous one was when he *dangled* his daughter in front of the plec and it made headline news around the world.

I remember as well the huge Boa that took 4 of them to move from one enclosure to another at his zoo. Theres so many scary and funny moments to remember.

I looked up to this guy,he respected every single animal on the planet and I really admired that. He was a little off in the head sometimes, but I'm not taking it well that he died. He really got the message out that we need to learn to coexist with animals. God bless him.

He really did do alot for the world and its a tragedy that he had to leave it so early.
I think animal planet are going to do a tribute to him by having a crocodile hunter day. Well thats what i heard not sure if its tru but im sure they will.

Possibly the greatest man to walk the earth, and the luckiest. He got to grow up and do what he loved the most, and very few of us can say that we were able to do the same. He was filming for a new show that he was going to be doing with his daughter and son, supposedly aimed toward children to protect the environment. Its depressing that he'll never be able to launch that project. I always knew some sort of animal would kill him, but i guess i invisioned him bieng much older, and the animal alot more deadly. Regardless of how he died, he did more for the environment world wide than anyone else, and we can only admire the good he did and hope that his wife and children continue his work.

He was not actually killed instantly, he was able to make it back to his boat where he removed the spine himself, it had penetrated his heart. Sting gray poison is not actually deadly to humans unless there is a sevear ilergic reaction or something of that nature. But a sharp object through your heart would definately do the trick.

also the fact the poison went into his heart it would of spread round his body really quickly thats why i heard he took it out.

Anyway Steve Irwin day tomorrow on Animal Planet go watch it! I will be.
