Yikes :s

I was looking into buying one of those Hagen nutrafin c02 kits from aquaessentials ...

But Its says that one is suitable for up to 75 litres my tank is 240 litres !

Please dont tell me that I'll have to buy like 3 of them to produce sufficent c02 for this tank ?

Could someone explain to me what I'll have to do and give me some solutions !

I really dont have alot of money ! I do know of DIY c02 have done it before wasnt quite confident with it though !

Thanks alot

Richie

This site will give you a very strong insight into the world of CO2. 75L is 20 USFG. DIY CO2 will work fine in this tank. The real trick is efficient diffusion of the CO2. Read closely and you will get all the answers.

mmmmm yess hanking you, have finished my beer now, and shall be reading that vital info. thank you

the link appears not to work for me....

Nope, nor me. Site may be down, try again later.

Getting CO2 into the water is a pain. An Airstone will actually hinder things!

Use one of those crappy ladders, a Rhinox / Spiro (not as good as Rhinox but look way cool) Diffuser off ebay.

(I DIY'd a Venturi Reactor for CO2 from my NutraFin).

PS DONT SHAKE OR KNOCK THE BOTTLE when in use! It may fill your tank up with all that sugar / yeast / alcohol mixture and KILL YOUR FISH.

OK, thank you. I shall order the Spiro, purely because its in the UK. my tank is 70l, that should be adequate. Thanks again.

Also, I'm not sure if my oredered CO2 unit comes with CO2 tubin (absolutely neccesary?), if not, what size do I need, I notice there are different diameters...

thanks again, thats the link to it.

You ordered the Nutrafin Kit didn't you? That comes with the correct tubing.

Andy

PS
Unfortunately the Rhinox one looks crap but it is better (according to 'those in the know'). Don't be put off by it being state side - nowadays it may as well be in the UK, espcially if you use PayPal....

Thanks all for all your help!

I shall put up pics when ive set it up, and afterwards when (hopefully) I have good plant growth ::>

THANKS you have all saved me a lot of money and time :>
