OKay, for everyone who has been with me through the trials and such of breeding. I had a complete whoops!

I had been putting Ellie (from Splashluff):

In with her brother Dezzy (also from Splashluff):

I gave them about 2-3 tries in the last few months. Then this time I set it up as a way to have her release some eggs--she was pretty full. They were in together (her in a vase) for 3 days and I released her yesterday night. I wasn't expecting anything.

Today I couldn't figure out why he was being so possesive. I figured he just was rebuilding his nest. Guess not! I have EGGS!!! AND LOOOOOOOOOOTS! I'm so excited!!!

Mom was removed and Daddy is being a good boy! He is very protective. Dang that's a hell of a lot of eggs!I'm going to be a fishy mommy!

Congrats! Wow, that's an awesome clutch of eggs! I'm sure he will be an awesome Daddy just like his Dad. It's funny that they decide to spawn when you didn't expect it... it must be that they didn't feel pressured. Good luck with all of those babies!!

Yeah, aparently I really didn't have enough to be besides going to college full time, working part time, and volunteering all day on my one day off! I always thought my idea of fun would be to do nothing, but I guess I've realized that really I just love to be busy!

Yeah, talk about no pressure, I had to think when I released her because I reallly just thought that hopefully she'd get excited enough to drop the rest of her eggs. I never expected them to actually get it on!

Well I went to go say good morning to Daddy and he had a FULL belly and the nest was VERY disturbed. I think he had a midnight snack! Bad Dezzy!

I don't know if there are any more eggs in his nest right now, although from a quick glance I'd say no. So this is the shortest spawn diary in the history of TFF.

Oh well, live and learn.

Definitely leave him in there, anyway. My boy had a huge tummy, too, but he ended up with 300 eggs... and I thought I had 50 or so left after his snacking. He could've turned on the eggs, which would suck! But he could've just eaten the bad eggs. Just make sure the area around his tank is peaceful and he should be ok.

i'm sorry to hear that. if gthere is any left i will still like to buy some off of you. i hope that dezzy just ate the bad ones, for the sake of the babies.
