Looks nice in the picture. Personally not a lover of open top tanks but then again I have Cichlids and they do love to splash at feeding times!

I love the open top tank, they ain't really open top they have a sheet of glass on top of them with a hole about 2inch radius. Im thinking heavily plants with a beta, pygmy corys, some harlequins and maybe some cherry shrimps.

The tank looks good although i would be wary of an open top tank but you could fix that with a sheet of acrylic across the top.

Yeah. They do great in planted tanks. And theres a good chance of breeding if your ph is below 7.

Yeah. They do great in planted tanks. And theres a good chance of breeding if your ph is below 7.

My pH is around 6.8-7.2 changes now and then. But i'm sure with plenty testing and something to bring pH down i could keep it steady! Really get my mind set on them now!

They should breed in that as long as there acclimatized well. If you want to breed it would be best not to get other bottom dwellers that will eat the eggs. Maybe something simple like
3 Apistogramma agassizii (1 male, 2 females)
8 Marble hatchets

You might get away with them but im not sure how the Apisto would be with them if they decided to spawn.

Thats Apistogramma cacatuoides there fairly similar but Agasiziis are nicer IMO.
The one in my profile pic is a male Agassizii.
