£80 is a little out of my range.

Thanks for the offer though.

indeed and it flow nowhere near 1000 closer to 600lph.lph 1200lph is only the pump power, measured with no cannister and no media.
unfortunately, for £80 or less, you have no options, even close to 1000lph. though the All Pond Solutions 2000ef, gets close to 1000lph. and costs about £70.

Maybe so, but I am only quoting what it says on the box and the website. You can't have it both ways... I want a 6ft tank but can't get one for £50... my tetratec is brand new and they offer the best customer service you could imagine.

I would suggest its, vital, to have it both ways!
i do understand.but you need to be realistic. Personally i dont see the point in stating a flow, or reccomending a filters flow, when, in truth, you havent go the foggiest idea what the flow, really, is. and its so simple to measure.
i see you have good relations with the Tetra customer services. which is good, err... I suppose. I use Eheim,(for many years) but i have never had to contact them for help, so wouldn't know. though they, USED T0 answer my technical questions.

How am I being unrealistic? I am asking for less than you can buy one for and the figures are there in black and white... the filter is suitable for aquariums upto 500 litres. Simply quoting the manufacturer. If the OP doesn't want it then fine, I'm in no rush to sell and will leave it in the cupboard until I need it myself.

Good luck in your search for one shaddex.

OP i have a CF 1050 sitting here without pipe work you more then welcome to have for silly money £25 or something if you find out if the pipes fit?

Im ordering a EX1200 on tuesday so will be free by then

NB: no i dont expect to get 1200LPH out of it :D

lol no, i mean realistic about the filters performance. for, both when and if you sell it, and to guage its performance in use. we all, should, know aquarium heater thermostats are very inaccurate. so we make adjustments to ensure they give the correct heat. same should go for filters and flow. the same should. also, be true, of the claimes on boxes and in adverts.

anyway, the point i am making is, the EX1200, flows nothing like 1000lph. and that was the performance the OP asked for. and the All Pond Solutions is the only one, to do so, at the price range of the OP. indeed, filters of that sort of performance, are few and far between. as well as costing well over £100 new. lol, and second hand too.
the OP could go for 2 of the EX1200's ( even second hand over £100)

If you read what the OP said first of all, he said he had a CF 1000 Aquis... he then goes on to say he needs one that has a flow rate of at least 1000 lph. If he has a filter that is rated at 1000 then surely one that is rated at 1200 would be better whether the actual amount is 50% less than stated or not?

Are you still looking ??
I have a magnum 220 cannister filter
Here's a link
http://saltaquarium.about.com/cs/prcansiterfilters/gr/aaprmagnum350ca.htm
It does require a new media cartridge or make one up using sponge (which I did)
Want £50 and I am based in Notts (S81)

no offence guy, but this filter would be a MASSIVE retrograde step, for anyone. its a, err, a TAD out of date.
No Offence taken but imo a filter is a filter they all do same job and this one fits the criteria asked for

quite so. but its the way it does it and the need for the cartridges, that make it a "retrograde" step. unfortunately this has been said, here, by more than me.
UGF is a filter, but most of us choose a more modern filter., but it is still used and has its uses. just you dont see it much, any-more.
lol, its claimed lph is just over 800 anyway. :hyper:
