My dad and brother bought me some fish stuff one christmas. A new light fixture, some plants and then 2 fish. They thought that these fish were amazing - such vibrant colours, but little did they know that they were painted glass fish. The kind that get flourescent colours injected along their top and bottom. I was upset, but I couldn't return them since he threw away the bill. Suprisingly though, they lived for a year and a half. I really thought they would die after a few months.

For mothers day this year my son got me gift vouchers for my favourite fs. He then took me for a drive so I could spend them. I do like to choose my own.

well so long as it was a fish that i wanted i see no prob and it was healthy etc, i trust my gilrfriend and her family they have a big tank of there own and they no want i have got and what i like

I said yes, because I did once get some bettas as a gift, and the only two people who would do it for me know about stocking and compatability etc.

I'd say no, if I hinted or asked specifically I wouldn't mind though. With a small tank (18g), theres not much apart from the usual guppies, tetras etc. that will fit in my tank ok. I mean, obviously there is, but nothing cheapish/ interesting.

Nope, for christmas my present was to visit a fish shop a bit further out where we don't go and the parents paid for the fish, litle did they know they had a lot that i wanted!!
