I'm not thinking about whether you can get away with it, I'm thinking of the comfort of the fish. Can you get away with it? I'm sure they may find themselves a little space to call their own, especially if you keep them in mind when aquascaping. How comfortable with they be? Well, competing for real estate with 10" Uarus would put them at a serious disadvantage - even despite the calm nature of them, they're still all cichlids. It's a judgement call and I'd leave them out of it and save the dwarves for a dwarf setup because of my concern for their stress levels more then anything. Besides, from an aesthetic point of view those little guys will barely be noticed in that big tank with all those big fish.
Remember, part of learning with aquariums is experimentation. It's amazing what you can do despite all the rules of thumb and generalized recommendations floating around. Part of experimentation though, is learning about all the fish involved and making an educated guess, rather then just a guess. If you've gathered all the info you can and believe it has a chance of working, then by all means try it out and see how it goes. I've never tried it and can only offer an opinion of how I would handle it. Just keep in mind the one thing overlooked in aquaria, especially with cichlids - there is more to success then mere survival.
Good luck with it
