Worried About My Bgk And Rtbs

my bgk and rtbs fight alot more than they used too, almost constantly now. ive been attempting to catch the rtbs and transfer him to my brothers newly set up 75 gal, but i cant catch him! zekes fins are nipped pretty bad, idk who did it but im pretty sure its the rtbs. im worried sick.
any catching tips? i want to do it asap. also, if i can i will probably switch him with a rainbow shark.
im really stressed out right now....

When I couldn't catch my common plec (to sell him on as he was massive) I used a large Tupperware container to nab him. Seemed a bit easier to slowly trap it then chase with a net that was too small anyway. Give the tub a good rinse first to get rid of any soap residue. When he's in just slide up the side of the tank and then gently tip it right way up at the surface and cover it to transfer to whatever you plan to move him in.

No idea about the rainbow shark, sure someone experienced will be along to help soon

Lower the water, remove most decor and it's pretty easy to catch most fish.

we just did a water change yesterday and we caught all the rosey barbs and one buenos aires to trasnfer, but again, i coulnt catch the rtbs....

Lowering the water definitely makes it easier a food container is a good idea, and use a net to sort of chase him into it, or even get someone else to help you and have 2 nets and a solid container.

I generally find with smaller fish that going slowly and gently has better results than going quickly, but that might not work so well with a bigger faster fish like a rtbs.

kk, also i got some bigger nets to help. and i managed to get all the buenos aires tetras and rosey barbs to my brothers tank so i can get my cichlids.
