Need recomendations on how to improve it. I made it out of a toothpick holder. I made a filter out of a mechanical pencil. Here it is:

I made it in about 2 hours! I was really bored. It currently houses 8 brittles stars and a black mangrove seedling(not for long.)! I made a filtration system that is smaller than my pinky! This is the smallest "working aquarium" ever! Had it running for a week with no problems. Sorry for the blurry picture, i'll get more pics soon.

That sounds well cool, shame i cant make it out properly from the pic...yet how could you get a clear one of such a small tank

to nitpick, surely it is a pico not a nano,
anywho it is cool :good:

wow hmm... you could put one of those tiny glowlight tetras (think thats their name?)

no you couldn't!
firstly it is brackish, not freshwater.
secondly glowlight tetras are a schooling fish and should not be kept alone
lastly it would be too big as an adult.

I'll be watching to see what this turns out like...

I am planning on making 2 more. This first one is brackish and has 8 starfish in it! I want to have a saltwater and a freshwater one too. For the freshwater one I want to stock it with a least killifish. They are a native Floridian fish that is much smaller than a guppy. It is beautiful fish. I might take one of my anemones and put it in the saltwater version. I need to make a better tank stand. I guess I want to make a box out of stained wood. It currently sits on a black painted tupper ware that houses the air pump. The airline that powers the filter is made out of wire coating! It is about 1 mm. thick. The freshwater one should be easy because I can use zeolite as a substrate. It looks like crushed coral and absorbs ammonia. It can be recharged by put it in saltwater. I plan on posting directions in the DIY forum.

Big mistake. No fish can live in there, no matter how small. The tank size is too small and the water quality is unstable.

Water quality is not an issue. For a least killifish I will use Zeolite as a stubstrate. Zeolite works like activated carbon. The zeolite looks just like crushed coral except amonia and nitrites= 0. The biggest obstical is lack of space. It just may not be fair to put a 2 cm. fish in there. Granted most specimens I will get will be less than 1.5 cm., they will grow to 2 cm. i still think this is possible but, I would like to add plants too. I have no clue what to put in it as far as plants.
