Wondering about my setup plan...

You will have a full tank with the three groups. You can still increase the cories as I mentioned, up to 25-30 if you like. But the upper level with groups of the two fish discussed is going to fill that space.
But I do want a small-medium sized centerpiece fish... And If I kept those groups to a smaller size couldn't I do another fish?

Ive seen Gold barbs and Harlequin housed together before... If I have a large enough group of the harlequins wouldnt they feel comfortable?
Its just a mismatch for me but thats just my opinion. If you do get them both id just keep a close eye on feeding time and make sure the Rasbora get enough food because barbs are quick and dont come second when foods involved lol

Not really. You see, the issue is what is best for the fish, not us. You are pushing it for this barb as it is, but I think it may be do-able. It will (if healthy and properly housed) attain 3 inches, and frankly would be better in a 4-foot tank.

Compatibility/Temperament: Peaceful, but it is a barb and thus very active. Must be kept in a group, preferably 8 or more, or it may become shy and stressed. In a sufficiently-sized aquarium and depending upon water parameters it will manage well with similar-sized non-aggressive fish like small to medium barbs, danio, loaches, rainbowfish, and livebearers. Should not be kept with slower fish as it may nip fins.
I've been trying to work with the fish you seem to want...the gourami just does not fit or work here so that is out. If you are willing to forget the barb and consider different fish...up to you.

Just to beat a dead horse, agree that dwarf gourami is a no go as well as the barbs. I have 14 gold barbs in my 50 gallon golden dojo loach tank which isn't heated and they give my dojos a run for the money when feeding. Peaceful but active. The activity could be too much for any pearl gouramis which would result in their slow death.

I had many (27+) corys in my 75 gallon over eco complete with no issues-ever. I even had some live for 11+ years with no issues; so sand isn't 100% needed in my experience. They would constantly breed as well, so they were happy little guys.
Also agree with bumping up their numbers, they are easy on the bioload (vs something like a pleco, lol).

A male and three female pearl gouramis could work in the tank, they are social fish but the males can be aggressive to each other-hence the one male.

Have you thought of rosy barbs, six banded barbs or checkerbord barbs instead?

"Any other species that would go well with the species mentioned similar to the gourami that are colorful and semi peaceful?"
Are you looking for an Asian theme? Only ask because the majority of the fish you selected are Asian except for the pleco and cory.

When I had my 75 heavily planted set up I had 3 pearl gouramis with 7 honey gouramis, small tetras and rainbowfish as well as kuhli loaches (black, silver, banded), lots of corys (>27) and multiple plecos (BN on panaque). I had two Eheim 2217 set up to handle the fish. Everyone got along well with each other.

So if you wanted you can add some smaller tetras with the pearls, something like glowlight tetras would look nice with the pearls, If you want you can have some giant schools of nanofish in with the pearls too. There are a lot of small rasboras that would look neat in a large school with the Pearls being the centerpieces. Pearls have very small mouth and are more herbivores, they will eat duckweed and pick at the algae on plants and decor as well as eat live/processed foods. So they wouldn't go after the small fish.

If you have the $$ you can even go with small rainbowfish like Dwarf Neon Praecox Rainbowfish or Threadfin (Iriatherina weneri) or Pseudomugil.

Ive just been researching a lot. I didnt know a lot of the fish I wanted were Asian so thats kinda cool... I dont have a lot of money mostly cause I'm a teen with an allowance. I KNOW I can get an aquarium if I keep saving but while saving I must research to know what I'm doing
