I've been trying to keep them buried a little bit in the substrate but my corys won't let them stay there and they also have been digging up the root tabs will my red tiger lotus still grow like this ?

These plants are heavy root feeders, If disposed on the substrate it will try to send roots down in the substrate. but the closer it is less energy will be dispensed trying to do so. And from the leaves left, it's running out.

It would help if you put a root tab fertilizer under it. If the bulb is still firm and dense, your chances are good, but if it's soft and mushy the plant is running out of power.

You can grow them in a pot and put gravel on top or put a net on top of the pot (use a rubber band to hold it onto the pot). Just make sure the fish can't get under the net.

I did this and I hope it helps because they destroyed my other plant by ripping it off the bulb I woke up upset this morning it was growing well.

While, in my case this may have just been a fluke, do not cut off all the runners that will eventually put what are like Lilly pads on the surface. My lotus had, I think, five such runners which totally cut off light for other plants. I cut off the runners and about two weeks later the plant was dead.

All my other plants are low tech plants so it should not be a problem if I leave the leaves on the surface when it gets alot larger.

This is a pic of since the last update I posted a update on march 29 here's what it looks like now

Nice, I love these for the red colour (without CO2). I plant mine on the sand with a root tab.
