ok lost one female fighter other day due to bulling i think (baddddd black widow)
but lost my other last night

all day yeserday and night before she would just rest herself near/on filter bigg NO NO so probly was there all last night sorta being sucked in but not if you get me (internal filter) which made her fins and scales look awful and soooooo bad

i was sold them under the impression she be ok in my tank seams not :(

Well you haven't given much details, Tank size?
How long you've had the betta and widows together?
Bettas really do better on their own, a betta can't kill itself.
When you found her what state was she in, any visible bites or anything?

Did she end up in the filter itself? Can we have a little more detail to diagnose the problem for you. Sorry for the losses of both but need, tank size, cycled?, tank mates, behaviour of bettas and othe fish, were they both eating?

Female bettas can be kept together, but they get territorial, and they may end up fighting if the tank is not large enough.

tank - 190
up and running for ages erm 8 months plus
all living together for at least 2-3 weeks (i.e not bought anything for last week or so)
all i have is
6 neons
7 playts
1 plec
4 black widows

this is my filter - shewas just resting where the water would go in (sucked in? no better wayto explain)

so the filter wouldnt of been to blame???
i'm sure i read on here or somewhere about using a pair of tights over the filter but cant see how filter would work properly?

It seems like the tights would have pores, it would just slow down how hard it sucks in. :good:

How long had you had them for as they may well of been ill when you brought them, i've brought fish in the past that look amazing in the LFS and then 1-2 weeks later they died from some nasty bacterial infection and i had to dose my tank as it had spread to some of the other fish. Its just one of those risks you take adding new stock.

Yes i know they can die, but i mean its not like the fish is sad so decides to kill itself.
There is many ways it could of died, sorry for your loss!

A betta doesn't choose to kill itself by jumping or overeating, both of these causes of death are the owners fault not the fish, by either not providing a lid for the tank or overfeeding, they don't think like we do by deciding to end it all one day!
Perhaps the filter in your tank was too powerful for your fish, but I also find that bettas don't do well with too much competition, either they get stressed by the other inhabitants or don't get enough food, your tank sounds a little busy to me :)

Bettafish, thats what i mean i dont mean as in she just randomly thought i dont like it so ill comit suicide(Im not trying to disrespectful towards the fish), i meant that there had to be a cause of why she died.

There are a number of possible 'causes' of death. Bettas male or female do NOT mix well with other breeds of fish, particularly tetras as the other fish will nip and bully the bettas. Females in any tank set up should be kept in groups of 4+ as they will bully each other for dominance. I doubt it was the filter unless it is one with a very strong flow. Plecs have been known to kill and injure bettas at night. I am really sorry you lost two x
