Why Are Bristlenose Plecs So Popular

They are small enough for an average tank, friendly, quite visible, a bit odd looking, breed easily, are cheap, do eat a bit of algae now and then....

Because they are so perfect. They only get to be 4-5" they females are so cute males can be ugly but cool and different looking. They are active and clean mine are always out and are so much fun to watch. My female likes to hang on plants then glide down. I just got a yellow male today he is ugly but so cool. I love them they are great and not hard to hard to breed.

They are very popular here but I honestly don't see many in stores near me.

They are just great.

they are not ugly

and if you wana start breeding fish that lay eggs bn r where nearly everyone will start

I Have a stunning little bn, black with white dots and its a female, so no horrible looking bristles :)

I love the bristles! That's what makes them so cool.

I have to agree great but ugly. The only uglier fish I know of is the marine cow fish (seriously look it up I had nightmares)

Naa, these are the ugliest fish ever; marine blobfish, found in bottom of ocean, sitting there all day, then gobble up anything that moves past them;

OMG the blob fish is crazy very ugly. BUT I bet in water that might not look as bad.
