We have about 10 bristlenose please from inadvertent breeding, they have been fine for years. We went on holiday and a pet sitter fed them. On return the tank was slightly cloudy, no evidence of uneaten food. But all the plecs are sucking on the glass facing the room, head at the top, it's quite a sight. It's been 2 days now. We've done one water change. It's never happened before so I can only assume something is wrong. Nitrate is a little high but this has happened before and been fixed without this behaviour.

One water change wouldn't be enough. I would do a series of daily ones, maybe 25% to 50% daily, and things will probably settle. The filtration media may need a rinse.

Thank you. I'm wondering what has caused this, we were only gone for a week and no sign of leftover food.
