Just thinking of new idea's and thinking of doing a courier service within the north east (Middlesbrough) covering a 200 mile radius.

Reason im asking here is who would be interested in a same day gurantee fish alive courier service without the worry of the fish going through the usual stress of being transported by the bigger courier companys with their checking services etc.

Is it a good idea. probably would be a little more exspensive at first but as it expanded im sure it will become cheaper the more customers that were interested.

Also their would be no need for heat packs during the summer months and they would only be transported a couple of hours at a time if i stuck to the 200 mile radius, i would also maintain the vehicles temperature aswell

I could also supply various pet supplys as my mother inlaw owns a hardware and pet store, where i normally trade alot of my fish for supplys! So could be another advantage aswell as they would be cheaper than the rrp in store as i wouldnt have the same overheads.

:good:

Sounds like a good idea as the thought of a "normal" courier just switches me off completely.

But not being able to get the right fish without me travelling........

Depends on cost of course, but then the cost could be offset by the purchase of a premium fish..

Just thought you could also do "mature media" as well.

Paul."

I would start off at £10 per package doesnt matter on size really but i would need upto 10 customers in a single day spanning across the 200 mile radius, i would use a small car at first but then expand to a larger van as it picked up i think it could be done if i can drum up enough interest.

thanks for the feedback

Have you checked in to insurance as it will be a bussiness?
Maintainence of your vechile/fuel cost's/overhead's/advertising/what will you do if one vechile become's disabled?
Just making sure you have looked into it good and proper

Just a call to my insurer wouldnt be a problem, i have aa recovery again would get me home where the fish would be safe overnight, i also have more than 1 vehicle so i could make the delivery's no problem, fuel wont be too exspensive in the vehicle i plan on using.

And its just a call to companys house to set the company up a ltd company again not a problem, i already run a ltd company for instrument electrical contracts so i have a good accountant etc. And i wouldnt need liability insurance at this point as the extra i would pay my vehicle insurance would cover them aspects.

Thanks for the advice though :good:
