considering changing my internal spoung filter - to one that is located outside the tank. any suggestions or should i leave it alone? cost is not an issue

I changed my internal filters in my 2 x 10 gallon tanks to Aquaclear external filters for 3 reasons - gave the fish more room, me more room to plant things and better water circulation. Left the internal filters in the tank running for a couple of weeks after I set up the aquaclear. Long term have found them easy to clean - the impeller was a bit of a pain to clean the first time but I'm better at it now - hope this helps

Looking at your water perameters your existing set up seems to be working well?

What was your reasoning behind changing to an exteranl filter system? Are you wanting bigger (and therefore messier) fish?

Defiantly not bigger fish

I have two catfish both approx 6/7inchs, and I only have 36inch tank. I think I’ll be upgrading soon.

This is a complex hobby, and I am hooked. I only want the best for my pets. Also one of my cats is so nervous I hate going into the tank moving things about – he saying in a mood for hours.
