10-12 cardinals, harlequins, neons, or 12-14 chilli rasboras
4 mollies 3 platies
8 Pygmy cories or 6 panda cories

I like how that looks but I'm kinda set on a cichlid, either the bolivians or the fms, or another.

A pair of fire mouths should be in a tank at least 3' long. I realize your 29 is only 6" shy, but why risk your other fish. If you want a male and two or three female apistogrammas of any species would do great if you omit the rams.

Me and biulus research showed they only need a 32" tank and 25-30 gallons so im kind of wondering

I checked 20 different websites and the most common answers were a 20 gallon long or a 30 gallon. For one but 40-55 for a pair

Go for the Rams! Then add stock that works well with them. Cherry Barbs are a good idea...........

I would lower the number of Kuhlis to 6 and lose the Mollies, that many Mollies need a bigger tank. Believe it or not Molly fish should have a 40 gallon tank according to some sources on the web. Especially 4 of them. You could increase the number of Platys instead.

You can keep a pair of firemouths in a 20 gallon long.
Your size is fine for 1 but im not sure if I would put it with those tankmates.

I'll just keep my 3 mollys as they've been with me for a while. Especially the one who survived my first ich outbreak too and has been in my tank since September.
My research shows they only need 30 gallon tanks and why lower the khulis to 6?

With the stocking I suggested, 6 kuhlis would be better as IMO it would be overstocked with 10
