been treating my tank for whitespot for the last 2.5 weeks now with king british whitespot medication and with the temp up to 29 deg, noticed this morning that although most of the fish are now clear of whitespot, there are still a couple that have a few spots on them. This must be at least the 2nd or maybe 3rd cycle of the parasites.

I have only lost 2 neons and 1 black neon so far which is not bad, although one more black neon seems to be in a bit of trouble today with fin rot after the whitespot.

Am i fighting a losing battle to get rid of it? Is there anything else I can do to help? I dont want to do a water change as this will obviously dilute the medication.

Up your temperature to 32c and add extra air.
Maybe do a 50% water change, run carbon for 24 hours and switch to another type of ich med such as waterlifes protozin. When you put the meds in, do so at night as bright lights make the meds less effective.
Also when inbetween med doses do 40% water changes and use a gravel vac to get your gravel as free as possible from the ich.
There is a strain of ich thats very med resistent so this is what you might have.

Just a suggestion...

I've found the king British treatment doesn't work very well. Protozin is usually very good BUT I have come across a new product on the market call SeraMed, it is aimed at the more resistant version of whitespot and claims to cure it within 24hours. I was sceptical at first but got amazing results. In my experience it really does work, quite expensive though, about £12 for a small bottle!!!!

Otherwise Protozin usually does the trick as its a bit stronger than Antiwhite spot and don't forget to remove the chemical filter media.

It's funny that, because after two or three cycles of protozin when we had our whitespot outbreak, we used King British and it was gone within a couple of days. I dont rate protozin very highly at all - the new King British stuff is supposed to be much stronger - but obviously that's not working in your case.

But if the KB isn't working, I doubt the protozin will.

Where did you get the seraMed from?

I get it from a shop near to where I live. Its not my local and only came across it by accident.

Its the only aquatics shop located in Melton, Leicester. I'm not sure if it is avaliable online anywhere, I haven't looked.
I think its made in france!?!

It's called SeraMed Proffesional Protazol, I think there website is http://www4.sera.de/site/main.php?language=en

thanks for all the help and advice. finally some good news, it had all disappeared by yesterday morning!!! still got the temp up and still treating to make sure everything is clear. But after worrying that I was going to loose everything, I only lost 1 black neon, and 2 neons. Not bad considering they were the new fish that were introduced anyway. And even better, all fish appear to be much happier now, no one is hiding away. So looks like I have beaten the bugs!!!
