for the 100g discus community im hoping to set up in the next few eeks id like this mix of discus.
1 ring leopard
1 marlboro red
1 giant flora
1 pigeon snakeskin
1 red turquoise
1 pigeon blood
cany you mix any colour strains together? would these 6 work?

you can also choose red map discus and checkerboard discus...these discus can grow very fast...

ok i will take a look at both. are there any strains that are best avoided?

all discus can be kept together but not wilds with captive breds as wilds carry bacteria that only wilds will be immune to, so if kept with captive breds they pass it on to captive bred discus they will not be immune and will probably die.
any strains of captive bred discus can be kept together just remember that they are cichlids and although peaceful they can and will kill each other, just try to avoid extremes in size differences, if 2 pair off it might cause problems but thats the same with any cichlids, you cross that bridge if and when you get to it!

cheers dave.yeah i know all to well the problems cichlids can cause lol. i plan on getting 6 together all basicly the same size ,and if 2 do pair off they will be seperated off and probably sold on .
