My current snail population stay firmly on the glass and (I think) as a result my rocks are taking on a decidedly grubby appearance. Its not full blown algae bloom, but more a kinda light brown 'fuzziness' and a dark red covering that's not dissimilar to corraline. Anyway it looks rough.

What snails do you guys find the best for rockwork?

Thanks

not sure wot snails u have now but the general feeling is turbo snails are the best, they wont just sit on ya glass, for snails they are very mobile and hard working.

You can always pick them off the glass and put them where you want them

Seriously though, IME, most snails I've ever bought tend to prever the glass to the rocks. Lazy snails

True turbos (not Astreas) tend to stick to the rockwork but they are quite large and buldoze their way around so make sure your rockwork is secure.

Trochus, Astraea, Turbo for algae eating

Cerith, Nassarius for sand and leftovers.
