Whats Wrong With My Feather Fin Catfish?

my tanks been up and running for a few months well since last christmas & we have never tested the water

i cleaned the tank about 1 r 2 days ago and doing it again tomorrow

but i just really dont get how its overstocked tbh :/
Its over stocked and most of the fish are unsuitable or you need more of them
1 swordtail
1 cherry barb - need to be in groups of 6 plus
5 balloon red eye tetras
2 chinese algae eaters - Get very aggressive when mature
1 silver dollar - need to be in groups of 4 plus and evan the smaller types will massively out grow your tank
1 pleco - Get to 24" and are ridiculously messy that alone will be more than enough waste in your tank
and a few corydoras - Need to be in groups of 4 plus

it might be time to buy a test kit and test the water then as this is the first thing to do when things dont go right.
as people have pointed out to you some of the fish in your stocking arent suitable for that size tank. as others have replied there is no need to repeat.

yesturday i got a a thing to put on the side of the tank and it tells u the temp and the temp was 74/72 would that have killed the fish ?

well now i got

2 balloon red eye tetra's
2 chinese algae eater's
6/8 corydora's

the silver dollar died so we boiled the gravel and stones etc scrubbed the plants so if anymore die i dunno what there dieing from

and as we were cleaning the castle the pleco was still in there but dead so i dunno if he died in the tank or not :/

didnt you think about getting an ammonia test kit at the least? this is what your fish will be suffering from

you don't need to give your fish to people, you can also give them to the store for store credit. you can clean every last little bacteria cell out of your tank, but then when you put the fish back in, it was pointless to do all of that effort.

i have a prob

i cleaned the tank out yesturday the tamp was 80F but then come night time it was 76F then this morning it was 72F is my thermostat heater broke or something ?

What's the heater temp set at?
What's your room temp.

when cleaning the tank did the heater get uncovered from the water? if so did you allow it to cool down before doing this? if its on full and not heating up then i would suggest getting a new one and while your at the lfs get an ammonia test kit....
