wait hang on a second! they have both grown bands right around them, they look like convicts but a viejas body?

Can you post more pics please - the fish in the picture you supplied earlier is 100% a Vieja if they have developed stripes, this could be stress stripes.

thats the spot, i filmed them just so you can see the behaviour but its gonna take a while to upload so just wait for that but its REAALLY bad quality cuz it was filmed on my phone

yeah they eat evrything, WAIT IV GOT IT!!!!!!!!!! I THINK IT MIGHT BE A SAJICA CICHLID!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (specifically a t-bar)

look like stress stripes to me, honestly. And I'm not thinking t-bar, I'd stick with what wills said. He definitely knows his big fish

i would say they they were stress stripes except if they were, then my fish wouldnt be swimming so happily and eating so well. its tiny compared to the tank anyway its like a juvi pink daino in a 200L, its tiny!

You'd be surprised. I've never seen my cichlids act particularly "stressed" when the bars appear, my firemouth in particular is quite a touchy one, he'll continue to swim around, but that doesn't mean something isn't bugging him. I'd check water perimeters and any signs of bullying amongst each other. But if wills is correct, and I've got a hunch he is, I'd just rehome them or even take them back to the store.

Initially when i saw the image on my phone i was going to suggest a Sajica, but waited until on the computer. Sajica's tend to have a more fuller line along the body.

See how they grow but Im still confident they are Veijas. The photos are not brilliant to ID.

If they are still small let them grow out, its not without risk and there is no garuntee that you would be able to keep them should they be what we think they are - it just depends on if you are happy to move fish on at a later date?

i checked water parameters today nothing wrong, i will grow them to 2 inches then rehome

i personally think those are stress stripes so it cant be a t-bar sajica, it is possible its a hybrid :/
