Hi All,
Well, I've luckily managed to bag a 70L (24x12x15) aquarium with glass cover slides, and internal filter (not going to use) for £10.
I've also managed to get ahold of a stand too for £10
As I think they are great filters, I've bought the largest of the Eheim Liberty HOB filters (I've got the other 2 models on one of my nanos).
Here's the crux:
I currently run 2 nanos - one 17L well established, temporate tank, with 4 white cloud mountain minnows and one pitbull catfish, ramshorn snails and hog lice (with java moss, Elodea and java fern at about 18'C.
the other is a newer 15L with 3 neons and 2 assasin snails filtered by a mini external, and with circulation aided by a tiny internal (planted with moss, java fern and amazonian frogbit).
Now, unfortunately I can't use this size aquarium to rescue the Polypterus from pets at home.
I bought 4 of the pets at home 'human skulls' a short while ago that I want to put in this tank (a bit morbid I know ;P), along with silver sand, some pebbles, maybe some drift wood etc. not sure about plants (other than amazonian frogbit).
I was tempted to put some cichlids in this tank.
BUT, would I be better off and kinder? in stripping one or both tanks and transferring their contents into the larger tank (buying more neons/white clouds and pitbulls)...
My other little dream was to have as many khulie loaches as I could fit into the larger tank....

Gives you more scope with the plants too. Look forward to seeing it! Not enough planted tanks use neons and cardinals imo.
