What To Do With A 4foot Tank

what to do with a 48inch by 11inches wide and 18inches high tank??

Hmmm ... could use it for fish? :hyper:

Sorry - being silly there - are you into cichlids at all? They are quite eye-catching and have such great personalities, you'd never get bored of them! Obviously you'd need to check out the adult sizes as some will grow to massive proportions!

Personally I'd get a selection of young Angelfish and Severum.....with small BN Plec/C.Loaches.
They'll grow nicely and maybe pair-off if you have 4+ and are lucky. :good:

I don't think a Severum would be too good of an idea. They can get up to 10" and the tank is only 11" wide! I'd stick with Dwarf Cichlid's if I was going to put anything in there, it's just not wide enough for some of the bigger ones.

yes i already have a tank with malawis in

You obviously have problems, why don't you give me the tank until you make up your mind :P

Put in a heftypump then go for a fast moving stream tank - hillstream loaches, WCCM's, Danio's and other fish that like that.

Bit different and the hillstream loach is gorgeous to look at.

yep go salty, thats were i am heading :hyper: so i guess i would say that, if you want to stay fresh thay why not have a rainbow tank :good:

well lets see... hmmm

~planted community tank
~rockwork community tank
~senegal bichir tank
~small predator tank
~crayfish tank - you could even add african butterfly fish to the top with floating plants
~well planted shrimp breeding tank
~catfish tank - banjos - corys - small plecs - whatever
~giant betta sorority
~brackish terrarium for crabs - very messy though FYI
~loach tank - i have black kuhli loaches and i would love to have a tank that size with nothing but about 40 black kuhlis in it
~small spiny eel tank - peacock eels - half banded - half barred - ect.
~rams breeding tank
~true green terror breeding tank - im going to start doing this soon
~pond tank - you could always dig up some muck and grim and tree limbs and stuff from a friends pond (no public destruction of property of course) and a couple of little fishes and crayfish and what not and stick it in there to "observe" - i think it'd be fun to see what other little creatures you bring into your house with you... its surprising how many tiny creatures live all over the place in a healthy and vital ecosystem. this is just a thought, im not really expecting you too act on it, but if you did i would think thats pretty cool. you could even start a thread about it in the scientific section and keep ppl updated on how its going. it'd be like a "planted journal" except it would be a "pond journal"
~outdoor tank
~any combination of any of the tanks listed above
:)
