What Sand Is Best

what sand is best for tropical tank as I a big pleco that is going to disturbed it a lot

 
one that when disturbed it just falls back to the bottom straight away.

I use Quickkrete (I think I spelled that wrong) play sand.  I got it at a hardware store.  It's great and my catfish can stir it up and it settles in seconds.

what about pool filter sand?

i heard something about pool filter sand increasing the hardness of the water... just stick to play sand, rinse the hell out of it before pulling it in.. when you think you're finished rinse another 20 times and you'll be good.

I use industrial sandblasting sand. Super cheap, settles really fast and looks amazing. you can get white and black.

I use white industrial grade sand. I wash the dirt out of it first.

Its great! The black i use looks amazing, especially with a black background and some bright fish

Yeah all of those especially pool filter sand and play sand work great, look great, and are cheap. For a smaller tank though I use black sand from super naturals I believe is the name. I just like it because it's black sand and is so shiny.

Pettex Roman Gravel Black Sand
 
My Cory's love it & are always digging through it ..I'd say its a very dark grey than black though.
 
I'd definately recommend it .
