thinking of funny names for fish

like bits an bobs

i used to go to lfs
that had a large pair
of gold fish called

Ronnie and Reggie


what names have you called yours
and what have you heard them called
it might be fun

hwen i was younger, i called my angel angee, it is very original.
And i had snake fish for the kulie loaches.
Big fish for my big pleco, and little big fish for my smaller pleco.
also had Sid for a ram i had once.

My first pair of angels started off as Tabby and Carrera (because one was stripey and one was marbled), but Carrera got re-named 'Attlia' after a short while as he was so aggressive; he killed poor Tabby in the end, even though they were a breeding pair

My first oscar was called Wilde, so I could say, "this is my oscar, Wilde" (yes, I know it's lame; it was my sister's idea ); my current oscar is Gormok the Impaler, named by my son after a character in World of Warcraft.

The two rescued common plecs I used to have were Moomintroll and Hemulen.

The tiger barbs are called 'The Swarm' by my son and 'tiger bobs' by my daughter

I have a ram called Aries, as for a long while he was on his own in that tank and so was 'the ram' and another ram called 'Psycho' cos she's killed 9 green neons and her mate in the year I've had her, the *****...

An albino cory called Aloo Gobi (god knows why we named her after a curry >.<)
A betta called Thor
My cichlids are affectionately known as "Weird parrot mouth fish" by my bf
A goldfish named Jofish after my cousin (When I was tiny I couldn't pronounce Joseph, hence Jofish)
When I was little we had a load of goldfish that I named after the various characters from the Land Before Time >.<
My push over of a betta is called Seaweed.

i named my stripped raphael catfish rafa after the number 1 tennis player (no surprise there)

i named my female molly leanardo-da-fishy IDK why
male molly i named michealtangelo again IDK
they died tho so i was upset


my male praecox ive named Dimsdale after the guy in the scarlet letter cuz of the red finnage and yadda yadda bsbsbsbs
one female praecox i named hester cuz she has some red to her (i know i fail lol)

the other two dont have a name yet lol

the biggest gold barb is named Boss
the special gold barb is named Specials
the other two dont have a name lol i refer to them by their stripe count


the male special boesemani is named dum-dum
the small female is a no name
the large female is a no name
the males are a no name but they do flare alot lol

my oto is named Senor oto (obviousy with the ~ on tp of the n)
