What Kind of Catfish?

[sandmanj20091]

Hi All!

My son caught a catfish in a lake in St. Louis, MO last night and I am having trouble identifying it. I would really appreciate any help identifying it!

Welcome!

It looks to me like some sort of channel catfish, wonderful catch!

Of course! I am pretty sure it's a channel cat, but they can look very similar to bullheads, especially out of the water when they have very similar colorations...
