This is a bit weird.... I hoovered all of my sand today at about 12 and then 5 hours later I came back and it was all covered in what looks to be fish poo. I only have 4 Corydoras and 2 Gouramis in there so what would it be? I haven't seen any of my fish doing a poo so it's very mysterious lol Would it be the Corydoras?

I'm not overfeeding, I'm feeding the Gouramis twice a day with flakes and dropping a Tetra tablet in every other day for the Corydoras.
Is it the fish eating the plants?

I have no idea. It's not exactly long stringy goldfish poo but rice size if you get me hehe

Thanks,
AW

I have 3 Platys, 1 Gourmai and 3 Pymy Corys at the moment and I have that. I hoover it all up, come home the next night and it looks neglected again. I've always blamed the Platys but as you don't have any........maybe it's Gouramis?

Hmmm maybe it is the Gouramis as it seems to have gotten worst since I bought them lol. I'll have to catch them in the act!

Get some MTS snails -brilliant for keeping sand clean. Rarely have to vac mine and I have lots of fish in my livebearer community tank

*sigh* I know but I just don't like snails.

I'm hoping when I get my other 3 Pygmys that will improve the problem. Though they are only small!

Adding fish will not make the appearance any better. All of the fish need to eliminate waste so adding more fish simply means more waste. Sand shows the waste on the surface more than gravel but that is both good and bad. It looks bad but is very easy to clean up. With gravel you do not see the waste but it is still there and is more difficult to remove.

Yeah it is kinda good to know that after you've cleaned and you can't see any waste......that's coz there isn't any! Definitely something in that.
