What Is This Cat?

I'm looking into this for a friend, and this is not my cat and I admit, hands up, I know near to nothing about cats
So anyway, my friend rescued this cat, and always just settled on the idea it was a crossbreed. She came accross a picture of a Leopard Burmese recently and thought Jeffrey here looked exactly like one. I've attatched a picture, Any help would be appreciated. Her husband just rekons it's a crossbred moggy. Who's right? Don't worry I won't be crushed if he isn't leopard burmese wish me luck breaking it to my friend though haha!

He doesn't look like any one specific breed of cat I can think of....However I would say he definitely looks like a bengal cross.

I've never even heard of a 'Leopard Burmese', so not quite sure what you friend means there... but maybe she meant bengal?

Wow that was unexpected haha. I've heard Bengals can be very expensive but he's definitely a cross then? My friend wants to know whether there's a chance of someone trying to steal him!

Yup, looks like a Bengal, lovely creatures I have a friend who has two, from different breeders and they look very different from one another although have many similarities.

Sorry, my bad -Ain't no expert on cats (as you've probably guessed) but it does have the colouration & markings of a Bengal cat. The Burmese type seem to be a solid colour with hardly any markings as far as I can tell.

Definitley looks like there Bengal in there somewhere, mixed in with a fair amount of Tabby Moggy.

I used to have a purebred Bengal, and he was such a noisy old thing! Always climbing things too.

lol, you might be surprised to know, all cats carry the gene that causes the "Manx" syndrome. tailless cats are not that unusual. though its clear that, "Manx" cats, come from a family line that suffers more than others.

i must admit i would have placed the OP's cat as a "moggy".

my cat "Sox" or Woof". is a spotted tabby. though the colours are more like a "common" tabby. lol, I've seen her mum and dad. there is no doubt she is a Moggy.

i guess the only way to find out is, do a dna blood test. but, is it really that important? the addition of a little, moggy, can only benefit the inter bred, "pedigree" cat.

There are a couple of other ways - does the cat have tummyy spots and glitter on the end of each hair shaft? Not all Bengals have these, but if it does have the glitter, its a bengal, as Bengals are the only cats to have this type of colour at the end of each hair shaft

He does have spots on his belly. I think he also has the glittery fur thing, or at least this photo seems to suggest so
