I was just wondering what some of you guys/gals will pay for yor aquatic pets. I dont have anything real expensive, I think the top price of all my fish was maybe $15.......... I think it was for one of my African Butterfly fish, maybe my spiny Raphael cat..... I have a pair of Senegalus Bichirs which were a measly $10 a piece but I know they have to be more expensive now at full size..............

What was the highest price any of yall paid for a fishy?

Lol the grand total of £4.99........my Pygmy Corys each!

a very unimpressive £10 I'm afraid. My Pim Pictus is currently the most expensive fish I've bought. But watch this space, I have a plec in mind and know these can get expensive

my albino discus which are worth around £70 each

£16 on a Snowball Pleco.

Looking into Cichlids soon though, so may well change.

James.

My African Butterflyfish at 3 for $40.00 (a little over 13.30 each) and my Crown-tail Betta (Breeder to LFS Manager to Me) $13.99

I don't know about fish... but my dark blue tiger shrimp are about £25 each.

WHY SO MUCH FOR A TEENY WEENY SKRIMP????

some shrimps are very expensive. i have saluwesi cardinalshrimps that can sell up to £15 ish each.... crystal red shrimp that are a top grade can fetch silly money.

shrimps are cool :good:

So the consensus so far is that discus are more on the pricy side..?...
for good ones yeah.

Most I have paid is £30 for my Heros Severus sp. Tato female however I consider her a bargain and equally her mate whos is a Heros Severus sp. Atabo who I got for free but now they are looking like a pair I would think they are quite valuable.

Discus are expensive but its one of the more "serious" sides of the hobby ie. there are a lot more collectors that will hunt specific strains or follow breeders till that perfect strain arrives and then pay out mega cash for them. How ever L number plecs are equally expensive with most average L numbers being about £20 as an average price but going upto £50 for your royals at a decent size right upto £1500 for "rare" collectors fish like blue eyed panaques. Then again you have some Arrowanas that run into the £1000s for their values - same for FW rays and also predatory catfish are often quite expensive usually worth £100 + each. Then in the South American cichlids 2 of the "trophy" cichlids - mainly because of their value are the true parrot cichlid (not the orange hybrids) and Panda Uaru are usually worth £70-£90 each
