What Is The Best Water Pump?

In your opinion and experience, what is the best water pump on the market?
 
Since this is an almost entirely subjective question, please explain your answer.

I currently have a Supreme Classic Mag Drive Model 5 (500 GPH).  It's a beast of a pump, but it's insanely LOUD (like a vacuum cleaner sucking up rocks).  It also seems to be less efficient than other similar submersible pumps, but I have no experience with other pumps.
 
I'd like to get a quieter pump in the 500-1200 GPH range, but I'm really curious about all pumps.  I'm eager to hear about what you guys are using or have used as well as any unique uses applied to them.

I've used Marineland's pumps for everything.  My return feed, my UV Sterilizer, and water changes.  They are adjustable, quiet, and internal.  I've never had an issue with breakdowns, heat exchange, noise, power usage.  I've been quite pleased with everything, and continue to buy marineland pumps for whatever application I need.
