what makes you think i wouldnt listen to anyone on the forum, if someone went contact these people they might take them off you, or i know a public aqarium who might be intrested, then i would gladly listen to them. if people are just posting to remind me that i shouldnt of bought them or reminding me how big they are going to grow to then your right im not going to listen as we already came to that conclusion

at the moment they are happily swimming around a 300l tank with there only mates being 4 clown loaches who are similar size so there not going to suffer and die for the time being and when they outgrow my clowns the clowns can be transfered into one of my other tanks

irresponsible yes i shouldnt of bought them but as ive said above regardless as soon as these fish went into the lfs they were going to die, if someone walked in 5 mins earlier and bought them then who knows. but im pretty sure joe bloggs of joe bloggs zoo doesnt by his fish from there

im not selfish, selfish would be keeping them and killing them when they get too big. i mentioned keeping them but keeping them till i can find a permanent home for them

so maybe just maybe these fish might find a permanent home where they can grow to adult hood and live for 20 or 30 years

so if youd like to let me know of such a place then please do

You cant keep them!

They are also an active fish and need a large tank to be happy, not one where they will hit into a side 12 inches away.

Please ask a local aquarium or zoo to take them. They may even go into somebody's pond if they keep a heated pond (such as red tailed cat owners)

Please listen to all the helpful advice these people are giving you for the fishes welfare and your tanks welfare. If you add anything else, it will probably be eaten and you will loose money on fish, and they will grow faster.

ive checked the videos on you tube, if i dont manage to get rid of them in a month then im taking my clowns out for safety

ive read somewhere that they grow at 1" a month how true this is im not sure but i aint taking the chance.

Good greif i don't mean to sound blunt but no matter what specise or genus it is it will become enormouse, you were told this before you bought them and you are being told this now, why do you continue to convince yourself you can permanently house this fish?

I honestly believe that not even the seriouse monster keepers on this forum would have the facilities to do so. My advise is to return the fish NOW and let the shop know that they shouldnot be selling these fish at all let alone to unknowing customers.

Sorry for the rant but to me you a being very irrisponsible, please re-think your decision.

I think he needs to ask the fish store for their advice first. Transporting the livestock back only to be told it's actually something somewhat different would cause needless stress, but I agree in general a responsible keeper should return stock unwittingly purchased.

But, on a completely personal level, could you please use a spell check before you post in future? Not an attack, just a friendly request!

What you going to do with the clowns?

Not sure if you're aware but the tank isnt big enough for clown loaches in the long run either, as adults they require a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft tank which is about 680L
