i think having being told they grow to such a size and then still buying them was a complete mistake.... what on earth are you going to do do with not 1 but 2 as shown in the pic massive cats.....? i doubt you or anyone else can accomadate such a fish let alone 2 of them.... they may seem nice and cute right now but wait until they cant move in the tank and eventually die!!! if shops are selling such a fish to the public then surely they need to be asked questions too. i would take them back now and exchange them, if youy put anything smaller in there with them they will surely eat them... and 2 fish in a tank doesnt do much for me

bought new tanks, cycled and swapped out fish so ive ended up with 300l tank with 4 clowns. they looked diffrent there was only two left

it was either go home research then leave for work come back and chances are they would be gone so i got them.

as for "your fish your problem" well as much as id want to say im not going to get into an argument over it.

when i bought them it didnt say cat on the species name, nothing said cat. nor shark.

Why do people still go out and buy fish without researching first ? you are on a forum where there are hundreds posting and willing to help. You also have google. The internet is by far the greatest asset to any new fish keeper. There is no excuse for buying these massive fish anymore.

From what I can see here if these were wild caught catching them was probably illegal and certainly unethical.
Importing them to the UK and selliing them at an LFS was also unethical although sadly probably not illegal
although it ###### well should be! It is pretty clear that they are doomed to outgrow their acommodation and die
unless a public aquarium can take them before they do so.

I sincerely hope that they are not in fact this species.

I'd say the top (dorsal) fin looks different to the 10ft one...

BTW the women in the shop - was she 10 ft?
