I had my first Betta in 2011, I have been very attached to it, and when he eventually died, I was so sad that I decided to sell my tank, long story short, I'm back... and I'm shocked what I see.
Most of the famous Betta breeders are out of business or no longer trading, even gumtree and ebay, once full of betta's now only few adverts. a lot of broken links to blogs and forums, except for the one in USA, Not to mention food price. I checked my email from 2010, I paid £3.50 for Atisons Ocean Nutrition 75G inc delivery, now it's £12 on amazon

What did I miss? is Goldfish taking over the world?

Well I am not sure about the breeders and hobbiests over there and why there is no longer as many as before but the Attison's Ocean Nutrition (blue container) is not made much anymore which is why it is so much more expensive.  I personally love that food and even my wild bettas enjoy it so I hate that it is hard to find.

It has sadly died now. Maybe it because people are learning that they actually need heated tanks and the like.
Perhaps we should team.up and start some breeding again !

Maybe it's good in a way that demand has dropped, it means that people no longer are keeping betta's in 5L vases. But it's sad to see websites like KGBettas gone.
