What Fish Can I Add To My Tank?

i have a 2 ft tank with 3 neon tetra, 2 neon barbs, 2 male guppys, 2 blood tetra and one sailfin plec.
I would love some more colour and wanted tiger barbs but will they fight? what if i introduced a fighter? help me please....thanks

Before i suggest fish, are you new to fishkeeping?

If so, theres probably a few things you should know before you add more fish.

How long has your tank been set up? How long have you had your existing fish?

Have you heard of cycling your filter? If not, you need to know about this.

dont no what the cycle stuff for filtering?

Hi,

Cycling is the process of building up a bacteria colony in your filter which breaks down fish waste into less toxic chemicals. This is the main function of your filter, contrary to what appearances may suggest. It is important for any fishkeeper to understand this process to be successful in the hobby.

The process of breaking down the waste is called the 'Nitrogen Cycle'. You may wish to google it, or i can try to explain it in basic terms if you like.

Try reading the thread in the following link. One of our members, Rabbut, put it together recently. It's still a work-in-progress, but is already a good guide for people who are new to the hobby and has many good points.
