It is very good and an ideal budget CO2 system for a 20G.

You will get better (and much cheaper) results by replacing the suppiled sachets of "Activator" and "Stabiliser" with dried yeast and bi-carbonate of soda.

A typical recipe suitable for your tank will be 1/2 teaspoon of yeast. Bi-carb isn't necessary in my experience unless you have very soft water.

There's plenty of members here who have (me included) used or use them with excellent results.

This is one of many threads regarding their use - http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=133433

Its a good product and inexpensive compared to pressurized set-ups.

The DIY method works a bit better than the sachets you get with it.

The wine makers answer to CO2 DIY for an aquarium. I would not necessarily build the reactor part. I bought a fish tank for fish, not for plumbing. Simply take the CO2 output from the yeast reactor and let it bubble into the pickup for you filter or alternatively through the inlet of a powerhead. The trip through the filter/powerhead will look after difusing the CO2. I would also suggest that you use brewers yeast or go to a local wine making shop and get some canible champaign yeast. These yeasts have a much stronger tolerance to alcohol which is one of the byproducts of fermintation together with CO2. It is either the alcohol killing the yeast colony or the colony running out of food (sugar) that causes the termination of the reaction. Total cost is litterly pennies for the construcion portion and buying your supplies in the grocery store will be far less painful than the LFS. I would suggest a check valve in the line to avoid the accidental syphoning of the tank onto the floor! One other tip: the weak link in the DIY set up is the sealing of the outlet through the lid of the pop bottle. I went to a hobby store that had gas model aircraft accessories. I was able to by a through bulkhead assembly that was the same size as airline hose. The bulkhead fitting simply went through the appropriate hole in the pop lid and was secured on each side with silicon, washers and nuts. Airtight and strong, not subject to prone a leak at every possible opportunity.
