I'm going to be getting a bigger tank soon, as big a tank as I can afford with a small a footprint as possible, and I'm guessing about a 20 tall. I've only ever had guppies and bettas and such before, and I'd like to stock this tank with colorful stuff that will form 3 defined levels, upper middle and lower (color contrast sort of thing). What groups of fish are compatible and tend to be a single level only type? Thanks in advance!

You could go with dwarf or honey gouramis for the top, some sort of tetra for the middle say pristilla neons or silver tips a shoal of 10 maybe and some peppered cories for the bottom though it depends on the actuall footprint of the tank as these are bottom dwellers and need floor space. I say peppered cories as they are one of the smaller cories unlike bronze or punctatus which get to quite a size (3inch) and need a long tank.
