Mine is forgetting to turn the heater back on after a water change. I change the water once or twice a week and the amount of times I forget is shocking. Luckily it's stuill fairly warm here, but I really have to remember over the winter!

Forgetting to trim my plants I guess is mine, trimming rarely happens

doing stupid things like:

I need snails for my puffer, I'll just dump a few in my community tank and I'll breed them there, woops now that is a LOT of snails

or

lets kill the snails by dumping all the plants into scorching hot water, the plants didnt really apreciate it

or

lets go with more filteration a fluval 4 should do the trick in my 20 gallon NOT

or

and popular by demand:

funny the hood didnt come with light bulbs, well these 25 watt bulbs I use for the bathroom will do the trick, (what is that smell)

finally I'm guilty of forgetting to unplug the heater before changing the water,

(ZAP, what the , ZAP ouch, ZAP oh crap the heater, *sizzling sound* ouch, oh yea its hot.)

*Note*

Black Beauty is not suitable for aquariums
Sand does not work well with Penguin Biowheel powerfilters
Gauramis dont handle stress very well
Neons dont do well with any additives or preservitives
Male Dwarf Puffers can be intolorant of there own kind even if it a female
Medications can actually make the situation worse

Quick question about the heater, why do you unplug it? This post can be deleted after im answered...

because without the water it will crack causing a shock hazard

if you have an acrylic tank it can be a fire hazard too

I think my bad habbit is not cleaning the tank before it actually LOOKS dirty :/

My bad habit is buying aquatics stuff just because it is dirt cheap. It doesn't matter that I have no room for a 28 gallon Petco tank, it's only $3! Last cheapie was a 38 gallon for $5, I may have found room for it, under the 63 gallon I got cheap over a year ago that needs a reseal. THe 63 & 38 are a winter project, the 28 is a great storage bin.

i keep buying fish and accumulating free and cheap aquariums without the consideration that my parents are moving to florida from california in june and i cannot bring all my fish from college with me

My worst habbit is starting the syphon with my mouth when i do water changes, i know it can be done other ways but i still instinctively stick the free end in my mouth and suck, despite all the possible dangers of getting ill.

I know what you mean.

I only have one tank, people with several must be on VERY good terms with their Chiropractors!

MTS has become a seriously bad habit of late, with another two tanks on the way. :*)
My gouramies have a very bad habit of breeding like bunnies. :X
Worst habit....overfeeding. Although I am getting better I still do it sometimes.
Talking to my fish. I find it puts them at ease to know it's me and not some nasty evil predator about to kill them but it earns me odd looks. Especially when I do it to fish in stores automatically. :*) :*) *Hides*
Hugs,
P.

What are the other ways to use the syphon...I have been using my mouth. And Can I really get ill?
