What Bad Habits Do You Have?

The best way is just to fill the syphon with tapwater. I usually forget to unplug my heater before I start to change the water- haven't broke even one. Guess I'm lucky B)

My bad habit is to let my bettas flare to long then if I forget about the mirror I'd look at the tank like 45 minutes after I put the mirror their and the bettas would be going real fast around the tank circling the whole tank flaring. But I don't unplug my heaters I just lower it into the water after a vacum cleaning then when I fill the tank back up I put it back into place.

Ummm, contsantly thinking whether I can get away with x more fish in the tank, when thats exactly what I thought with the last fish I bought, being very lazy on water changes in the 3g's, 15g and 20g even though the last one is overstocked, buying things when I do have the money but borrowing money for then from my dad and not paying him back (lol), never being happy with the tank....

Forgetting which tanks I have changed the water in and when
Iknow a pen and notebook would solve this problem but as I have managed to lose the telephone book 3 months ago and aint seen it since how long do you think a notebook would last?

2 main ones for me

1) getting too engrossed in my gravel vac (a bit tricky as you can see from the sig), spending too much time getting that last bit of poo that i forget to check the bucket and dump gallons of water all over my carpet then have to carry a brimmed bucket to the other side of my flat to the toilet leaving a lovely trail of fish water on route.

2) forgetting to feed the fish. (but i never forget to feed the plants LOL)

Oh yeah, that reminds me. Overfeeding is a big habit for me.... I think 'oh, but she'll wiggling for me, she must be hungry, have a pellet'...

Only one missing the bucket somtimes on a water change.

think mine has got to be which side of the filter media i last cleaned, leaving the heater on have blown 1 doing that & overfeeding the fish :*)

oh yeah & never being happy with my tanks

mine is becoming too engrossed in sucking up that brown muck from the gravel (which for some bizarre reason i find really satisfying) which usually results in overflowing buckets.. same as jimbooo!!

or doing a water change by my lonesome, and removing the vacuum from the tank, only to watch the end which was in the bucket empty the contents of the pipe all over the floor, and unit and whatever else happens to be lying around the immidiate vicinity!!!!! DOH!! :*) :) :D

and of course overfeeding.. always get duped into feeding again.. oh but they look so hungry, look at them all wiggling their tails at me.. awww....

I find that solved by always keeping one hand on the rim of the bucket with my fingers a couple of inches from the rim. When I feel the water touching my fingers I stop :)

That too.

I have a python, and it only works partially for me.
I still have to suck it, and I still use buckets to replace water..

Occasionally miss or overflow the bucket,
Generally start the syphon with my mouth,

But almost certainly my worst bad habit is coming home drunk with friends at 2:00am and switching the lights on so we can see the fish. I really should stop doing that!
