I am relaxing at work today, waiting for the last 2 patients to leave before I can finish things up and blow this popsicle stand
Yesterday I had a day off and spent 6 hours breaking down/setting up the 15 gallon, took a break and then spent a few more hours moving my computer setup from one side of the house to the other. I sttod for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out where the monitor and tower setup was going to be and realized I was limited by the room outlets and the desk pullout 
The desk is the Ikea Malm (L) pullout desk that is discontinued.
(Not my desk, the L on mine is on the left).
Will try to get a photo or two later today/night.

I’m not a huge soccer fan, but today I’m watching the US vs Australia on FOX channel. US leads by 1 to 0. The score was quite strange… ball bounced off an Australian player and went into their own goal.
After 41 minutes, the US has 0 shots on goal yet they lead by 1.

And US scores again and now lead 2 to 0. The goal was a result of a US player using his head to direct the ball from a free kick into the goal.

. That type of goal is referred to as a 'header'
It's not really 2-0. It was 14-0. You just have to pretend a goal is 7 points like in the NFL game, and then the criticism of 1-0 games vanishes. What sounds more exciting, 28 to 21, or 4 to 3?

I can't watch a world cup game without thinking of my favorite soccer player: Scott Sterling. The man, the myth, the legend.
@Boundava Elk and antelope are both good. Antelope get pretty strong flavored if they aren't cared for perfectly in the field, which is a challenge because they tend to live in hot, dusty places. I'd rather eat elk myself, but some hunters say the opposite. I tend to make antelope into sausage and jerky.

Not a soccer fan myself but I'm loving their reactions to America. They show more respect for this country than a lot of Americans do and really appear to be enjoying their time here.
Of course, they are playing a game for little girls after all......and women are generally more genteel than men......so I suppose that's to be expected.

I started working through two boxes of books and revues I inherited from a friend. It's a treasure trove - not many books, but well chosen ones. He was a killiekeeper and there are revues going back a very long time. Most are in French, but there are quite a few years of AKA journals. The ones from France are from before I joined their association, so I'll have some very good reading there.
There's a copy of the Innes Bible, with a trashy TFH cover on it, and a volume one Baensch Atlas in French.
Eventually, I need to organize and maybe someday index the shelves of killie articles I have here. They're written mostly by hobbyists for hobbyists, and are rich in info.
There is so much published hobbyist material out there from the pre-digital era, and very little of it has been put online. Most of it probably won't be. It's very high quality. There are lots of bright people in this pastime.

That's what bugs me about print going the way of the dodo. We'll always be able to get a copy of Atlas Shrugged in one form or another but niche subjects? Mayble not so much, and I'd hate to see it lost. After you guys enlightened me about Axelrod I searched for anything Innes I could find. And it turns out hardcovers are still available. But those same books didn't make the transition to digital. (I love paper books but eBooks are easier for me to read)
Then again, vinyl records have made a comeback. Maybe there's still hope.
Back to topic, I'm heading to my not-quite-favorite sporting goods store to pick up a new lower and various odds and ends. Getting in under the wire before the draconian new restrictions take effect. With my busted ankle I can't wander around out in the woods but I can handle a few hundred feet in a nice air conditioned "man" store.

I think online and AI are a permanent part of our culture, but I think print media are always going to be as well. In education, for at least 30 years "technology" has been valued in its own right to the point of being a buzzword; "How do you integrate technology into your curriculum?" is a standard interview/evaluation question.
But even in education, I finally see the beginnings of a backlash against omni-present technology as people begin to realize that maybe it isn't good for children to have a screen in front of them at all times. I think it took AI and Covid to make people realize that. Perhaps soon the new question will be "How do you incorporate face to face discussion and paper-pencil work in your curriculum?"
We'd be a better world for that, I think. Technology is a tool, that's all. AI is good for some things but not everything. I've been guilty of driving a screw with a hammer or using a chain saw to trim a hedge...but it isn't the best way.

I haven't checked recently but when I last did the major Innes works are available in digitalized format on several platforms. Also, the Museum of Aquarium and Pet History, an organization I wholeheartedly endorse, is actively digitalizing classic works. https://moaph.org/
