What are you doing today?

That sounds terrible! Be strong and don't let it affect what you do. Sort of sounds like how I grew up. I was constantly told I was worthless and would never amount to anything. I refused to hear what was being said and, even though totally self taught, I have 5 awards from Microsoft. At an early age I decided that it didn't matter what others thought of me. What was important was what *I* thought of me...

I got the nickname Wois (woe is me) when I was a kid because I complained of not feeling well and having stomach aches all the time. Everyone said "there's nothing wrong with you, stop faking, it's all in your head", etc. Most of the doctors said there's nothing wrong but wouldn't do any tests.

About 20 years later and a doctor finally sends me off for tests (barium meal and x-rays, not nice and only do it if you absolutely have to). They found 20 ulcers in my stomach, duodenum, small and large intestine.

I was put on ant-acid tablets and told to avoid spicy food and drink plenty of milk (I can't tolerate dairy so that didn't happen). Eventually they found out what caused the ulcers (Helicobacter pylori) and I was treated with antibiotics and the symptoms and pain went away.

It's unfortunate that most doctors don't have time to really listen to their patients and want a quick turn around (10 minutes, your done, next). If you do find a good doctor, keep them :)

I'm glad Juicebox has finally found a good doctor :)

The barium tests aren’t fun haha, neither is a gastric emptying study with radioactive eggs. He is a really good doctor! Unfortunately he’s a specialist for one thing and doesn’t have another opening for 6 months but I’m on the right track

Probably does not totally fit in this thread but I consider myself blessed. I'm close to 68 years old and take zero prescription meds nor do I have ant major aches and pains. I don't understand why this is so but it works for me...

So lucky  I’m 19

You got lucky with your genetic makeup and probably haven't been put on antibiotics when you didn't need them.

Actually my great grand father had a farm and died of a heart attack plowing his fields at the young age of 111.
When my grammie turned 90, my well-to-do aunt and uncle told her "Price is no object; you only turn 90 once; what do you want to do?" Without hesitation, she picked a white-water jet boat ride on the Rogue River.

If I ever make it to 90, I hope I'm that cool.

Cool for her! I kind of live by the principle of I will accept adult responsibilities and react to situations in an adult manner but flatly refuse to grow up; one MUST keep in touch with the 'child within'.. It is when you 'grow up' and forget the child within yourself that you get old. Forgetting the child within takes away the ability to dream. If you can't dream what is the sense of life?

Yesterday I had my dental appointment and went food shopping afterwards. Bad dentist doesn't do clean work and the filling is rough and needs sanding off. The broken tooth has 2 more cracks in it that could go any time. If it breaks again then it will need removing or a crown. So here's hoping it stays in tact for another 30 years.

Today (just then) the real estate agent came around for a rent inspection but wasn't wearing a mask so she wasn't allowed in. She said she would pop around tomorrow morning with a mask. I might still refuse her entry because she hasn't given me sufficient notice for a rent inspection. They are meant to inform me in writing, 7-14 days before the inspection. I got a sms text message yesterday saying it is today. And I got a letter in the mail yesterday saying there is a rent inspection today.

The letter is dated 12 August 2022.
The envelope has been post marked and dated as 18 August 2022 19:52 (7:52pm).
Even if the post office delivered the letter on the day they got it, that would mean I only had 6 days notice, not 7-14.

I might refuse her entry tomorrow stating she hasn't provided sufficient notification. :)

I don't get along with this particular real estate agent because she has broken numerous laws and threatened me and other people in the units, and nobody in the government departments that deals with this stuff cares or wants to do anything about it. So any chance I can make her unhappy, makes me happy :)

I don't know what to do about the situation upstairs.

Just put the recycling boxes out and the girl was under the tree outside, shaking, crying and in a right state

She wanted to leave after yet another fight overnight but he won't hand over her clothing etc. I told her to just go and then arrange for someone else to collect her stuff later but she didn't want to leave her stuff in the flat.

He came downstairs and I got him tween the wall and the door and told him straight that he has zero right to attack her, intimidate her or stop her taking her stuff and leaving (I wanted to give him some of his own medicine and smack him but I restrained myself)

He muttered a load of expletives, stormed upstairs and locked her out. She begged me not to call the police cos she was so scared what he would do if they came again....so very reluctantly I didn't call them.

She curled up on the pathway outside and cried for a while then got up and walked down the road.

I have emailed the council to update them since that is all I can do. I am worried about her safety.
