Hey all, Well this morning i woke up and discovered wat looks like eggs on the inside bottom of my lid. I have sum pictures if they help. I have harlequins, female guppies, female fighter and some american flag fish, gold snail in the tank. The closest thing the eggs look like is a hornets nest. But know there isnt any cause its my room the tank is in! It is hard also. Thanks in advance.

Snail eggs. Some types lay them out the water.

I did think they might of been snail eggs. But i believed that the temperature at which the tank is set out is to low for the snail to breed. There is 1 snail in there, can they breed without having a partner?

Ganja man wat do u mean by apple snails? The pest snails which are brown or the golden snails?

That what i thought no partner, but they can store sperm for months according to that article.

Yeh i just read that article and saw that aswell. So it could possibly be those eggs belong to my snail. Cause when it was in the pet shop it was in contact with other snails, so it could possibly be the snail eggs. Thanks for all your help so far. Will read more into it.

The gold snail you have is most likely an apple snail, as these are apple snail eggs. They'll turn a pinkish colour over the next few days as they dry out. They need to be kept moist, but not dripping wet...
When/if they hatch, you'll have hundreds of baby snails in your tank :)

But I dont want hundreds of baby snails in my tank :S I will try and sell them at some fish shops around my area. Anybody want some apple snails?

Selling them is an option. Check with your fish shop first if they will buy them because some wont - if they have apple snails there they will probably be laying eggs so they dont need to pay for more.
What is the pH of your water? The snails need a pH > 7, otherwise the acid will corrode their shells. As you will be having many baby snails with developing shells you might need to add some kind of calcium suppliment so their shells develop properly without pits etc.

Lastly, remember the snails will need food, they cant just survive on algae, especially with so many babies. Consider some sinking algae pellets or vegetables. If you dont give them enough food you'll find they'll start eating plants in the tank, if you have any.

If you decide you dont want baby snails, you can just scrape the eggs off the lid and bin them.

I do want to keep some snails. So i will take ur advise voo. I will sell them off. $1 each? Not sure, depends on how much ppl are willing to pay me. But it will also depend if any of them successfully survive and grow bigger. Thanks in advance.
