Water Softening Without Reverse Osmosis

As I got a curviceps dwarf cichlid yesterday and all my fish will permit, i was wondering how to lower my ph without going and doing RO water because that stuff is super expensive!

You could get a bottle of PH DOWN off ebay for about £4. That's what I use.

problem is, nothing can really do that. water has an unerring ability to revert back to original.(buffering)
the only effective way is to use RO.

or, as most of us do.
keep fish that suite your water stats.

lots of bottles, on the self. but none offer any long term fix.
