Water Softener Pillow

Do you think this is safe for human use? I was going to put it inside a pur filter to soften the water because i always have a white crusty film even after it is filtered. I figured this will help get rid of some of the tastes in my drinking water. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

Its probably safe but I wouldnt do it. Not sure it would effect taste and the cost is y.
