Water Parameters?

Yeah still getting the 8 footer. Im thinking of keeping the flowerhorn in the 5 footer and getting a dovii for the 8 footer, not 100% yet.

No it's going to have 2 fluval fx5 filters

Sounds like a plan m8. Cant go wrong with the FX5's. A dovii would be quality but then you are seriously limited to tank mates if any. And personally I couldn't have a tank with just one fish in. Especially since you have so many choices with an 8ft tank If it was me i'd set up my dream Discus tank

Yeah iv had an fx5 before. Can't fault the performance but my god they are hideous lookin things lol like having a huge dustbin under or by the side of your tank. I sold mine but if I knew at the time that the girlfriend would give me the go ahead for an 8ft tank I would of kept it... Typical

Iv always said to myself that if I ever get an 8 footer then it would be purely for a dovii and if I was to get it one then it would be the only fish in the tank. I had a male for a short time in my 5 footer and he was awesome. Plan at the time was to get a 6x3x3 but my job fell through and so he had to be rehomed. He was only around 7 inches, thats the size where they are just hitting maturity and their aggression starts to show. Saying that though even at tha size he was he was still so aggressive. He had an incredible grow rate too. Grew very quickly, even quicker than my FH. I love everything there is about dovii's. Especially the males for their colour. Awesome species

Although discus are very nice to look at iv never felt like keeping them myself. No reasons why really. Just not something id go for.
