i have read online to do a 25% water change weekly in an aquarium and i have also heard that goldfish are dirty so if i have goldfish do i have to do more than 25% water change weekly

what size is your tank and you only got 1 goldfish?

it is 14 gallons and i have 2 i know that is too small but i am getting a 56 gallon soon and also getting a 1000 gallon pond soon

one is 4 inches long and the other is 2 inches long

It should be 1 inch per gallon so you are fine, if you can do 25% better for your fishes, clean water= healthy fishes

I do 50% in my tank and I don't even have goldfish so yes, I would recommend doing 50% weekly w/c for sure with goldfish. You can never go wrong with big water changes...unless your tap water is contaminated temporarily or something...

Unfortunately the 1 inch per gallon rule isn't always something to go by, plus you need to take into consideration the adult size of the fish, not their size currently, it also doesnt take into consideration filtration and tank dimensions etc

2 goldfish in a 14Gal is obviously overstocked, theyre pretty messy too, I would suggest if you can 50% twice a week...

I will get a 56 gallon soon and I know that each goldfish needs 25 for the first 20 for added on fancy or no fancy to grow to full size
