Just a friendly question. Lets not start another argument lol

Anyway, how do you do your water changes?

Do you do the partial along with the full water change; or do you just do a full water change once a week?

100% water changes. :)

I used to do full about once a month in my betta's tank, but now I'm going to start partial water changes every other week to see if that will keep the algae away.

i never do and never will do 100% water changes.I do like 50% a week but thats with filter.I also try and do another 20% if possible.

My two boys are in a 10 gallon divided, filtered tank, so I do weekly 30%-40% water changes. Or, sometimes I let it go for two weeks, usually when I'm working a lot of overtime.

may i just ask can your males see through your divider or not?

I typically do 40% water changes weekly and every other saturday I do a 100%. Sometimes I do 100% weekly.

Yup, they can see each other. I divided it with a plastic canvas grid found in the craft supplies. They've been living next to each other for around 6 months. When I first set up the tank, there were plants up against the divider on either side to break up their view. I moved them to a different tank in the kitchen about a month ago, and haven't put any plants against the dividers, they flared at each other for about a day or two, and now they ignore each other. Funnily enough, when the plants were arranged where they couldn't see each other well, they would find the one or two spots that were open and flare constantly, now that they can fully see each other, they couldn't care less. Bettas are weird.

Water changes depend on the tank size, filtration, and the Betta size. I have a little guy in a gallon or 2 bowl, a deformy from Synirr. I tested his water after two weeks and there was no ammonia reading on a Aquarium Pharmacueticals, Inc. test.

50% water changes bi-weekly - Sunday and Wednesdays.

If there's decent filtration, and you know the ammonia and nitrate levels are fine, what's the purpose of doing a a100% water change?

I as with many others, don't use a filter in our betta tanks

I forgot that most people don't, I do, and even though the water flow isn't adjustable on mine, Gill (3 yr old daughter named him with the help of Finding Nemo) doesn't seem to have any problems with the intake tube, or the current.
