G'day everyone!

So my Aquaone 850 (165L, 43.5 US Gallons) Is finally cycled, but the in built filter that is housed in the roof sucks, actually it doesn't, and that's the issue.

It's all working fine, the job's being done, but I would like a bit more suction than it's providing, something that's gonna really bring all the waste and detritus a little closer, right now nothing closer than a few inches will be pulled toward the filters intake. I mean I could probably achieve this with the help of a power-head as well, but still I'd like a more efficient filter, also something a bit quieter.

So any suggestions? I have been thinking of the Aquaone Aquis 750(or)1050 series 2, or the Fluval 206, any experience with these?

Second question, now that my tank is cycled, should I set up a second filter how long until I can turn off my first one? Would it be as easy as transferring the filter media, or is there a time frame I should just run the new filter for first and let it build it's bacteria itself?

Well I've got the same tank and I've had no problem at all so to be far I can't see why you need to invest

Because of the reasons I wrote mate, might suit what you've got but I'm not content with it as is.

The best way of doing it is to put all the media from the cycled filter into the new filter, and then top it up with new media. If you run them in tandem, the bacteria won't jump from one filter to the other, you'll get some natural bacterial growth (at the expense of the colonies in the established filter) but it won't fully cycle.

Thanks heaps for that mate
