uv and filters

What is the best uv anf filters to use. is it better to have a combi or separate. Pond is 1000 gallons
Have a fish mate 25watt combi at the moment(3 months old) but am still getting algae.

On a recent buying trip to my local ish KOI stockiest (The only one in the Devon/Cornwall area that I will buy KIO from. Imported straight from Japan). I was told that to get rid of algae, all I needed to do was add salt to the pond. As I had just stripped my 700 gall pond down, and totally removed all traces of algae I have not done this yet, but if/when the algae comes back I will do this.

As to is the UV/Filter is ok. If it keeps the water clear then stick with it. I use A Cyprio bioforce 9000UVC with a titan 5500 pump. This need constant maintenance to keep the foam clean, but does a good job of keeping the water clear.
