I am looking at putting a UV steraliser on my 7ft tank and I think I have narrowed it down to 3 uv's

Aquamedic Helix Max 36W

Vecton 30w UV

Deltec Professional Complete 20w UV Unit

I do like the Vecton 30 which is what a friend of mine uses but the fact that it is nearly 3ft long makes space an issue. So it looks likely that I may well go with either the Deltec or Aquamedic helix, the deltec makes an issue of the fact that it is UVc rather than just UV does anyone know if this makes a big difference :?:

I will probably also get one of the smaller 24w Internal UV's as well which could be used on any of my other tanks if needed.

I was just wondering what UV's other members have ?

I have a Vecton 2 - 200 The new style ones 8Watts on my 125Ltr.

I thought mine was big at 1ft long. Works as it should and ver easy to put together (less effot than the internals)

I wouldn't bother with the internal ones. They do what they should but can burn out if you use them 24/7 which is what I do. lol

I would just go for Vecton all the way.

8 watts - up to 48 USG tanks (190 USG per hour)

15 watts - up to 96 USG tanks (360 USG per hour)

25 watts - up to 120 USG tanks (480 USG per hour)

30 watts - up to 180 USG tanks (540 USG per hour)

35 watts - up to 240 USG tanks (600 USG per hour)

I think this is correct...

Thanks for the feedback, I have spoken to another friend who is using the Vecton 30 on her 8ft Clown Loach tank and has been for 6 years and she cant fault it so it looks like I may well go with that :)
